Infant CPR
and newborn care
Your birth matters is delighted to offer Newborn Care and Infant CPR and Safety instructions plus choking for expectant parents,new parents, grandparents and caregivers. This combination class of newborn care and infant CPR is "strongly recommended" for those who want some newborn basics in addition to infant CPR.
Participants will learn:
How to bathe, diaper, dress, swaddle and care for your newborn
Norrmal characteristics of newborn
How to take a temperature
Choosing a Pediatrician
Understanding common newborn procedures in the
hospital or birthing center
How to burp a baby
Infant and Child CPR
Relief of foreign body airway obstruction (choking)
Accident prevention
Crib safety
Baby proofing
Car Seat Guidelines and NYC taxicab
FEE: $65/person OR $110/couple ( "couple " can be a parent, grandparent, caregiver or anyone involved in caring for the baby) Each additional person is $25, a discount we offer to encourage everyone responsible for the baby to learn these critical skills.
You'll take home a book from the Amerrican Heart Association along with a baby safety handout
